Who are we?

Our main practice is Baldwins Lawyers. It's an old-school, history-rich, country-style law practice that provides the 5 main general legal services to its clients, i.e conveyancing, family law, wills, estates and commercial law matters.

 

Zasco van Rooyen bought this practice in 2018 from one of its former owners and remains the sole owner of the practice. You can read more about the Baldwins Lawyers legal practice here... 

 

Zasco was admitted as a Lawyer, Conveyancer and Notary in the former Gauteng Province and the Cape Provinces in South Africa in 2002. He practiced as a Lawyer, Conveyancer and Notary in East London from 2002 until 2014 when he and his family emigrated to Australia.

 

Zasco was a partner of a mid-tier legal firm from 2004 until 2014 in East London and attended mostly to property law matters (i.e., conveyancing), commercial matters, wills, and estates. He was fortunate to be in a very busy legal practice, and in those 12 years practicing in South Africa, he attended to thousands of property transactions, gained a huge base of experience, and was fortunate to forge many relationships with clients for whom he still does work today.

In 2014, Zasco and his family emigrated to Australia, initially living in Forbes, NSW, for approximately 10 months and then relocating to Newcastle, NSW, where they lived until January 2018.  Again, here, Zasco was fortunate to learn from experienced Australian solicitors and was exposed to many property transactions, commercial matters, estate matters and drafted many wills, many of which were complex in nature.

In January 2018 Zasco and his family decided that Queensland's warmer tropical climate better suited their lifestyle and therefore made the change as a final stage in their emigration journey.

 

Acquiring Baldwins Lawyers was the next natural thing to do, and since having taken over the practice, it has grown from a small rural town practice to a practice assisting clients all over Queensland and New South Wales (including the Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia).

 

We are proud to say that since 2018, we've attended to thousands of conveyancing transactions across Queensland, not even to mention the transactions we've assisted clients in other states.  We've gained a considerable database of knowledge and experience in the property game and are able to assist our clients with their property matters throughout Queensland and New South Wales.
